Boats are beautiful.
The Sagitta is a 120 foot sailing ship that calls the warm waters of the Caribbean its home. She is part of Island Windjammers fleet and each week she takes 24 guests to amazing ports of call in the Leeward Islands.
Most of the time Sagitta motors from island to island, her sails raised just to add a few extra knots. When those sails unfurl and climb skyward she looks absolutely stunning.
During each cruise the crew will raise all the sails for a photo opportunity. Passengers can jump in the dingy and do a complete 360 degree loop around Sagitta as she is underway, giving you amazing shots of the ship at all angles. You’ll see all sides of her as she cuts through the Caribbean water.
During my trip on Sagitta we did this on our passage from Nevis to St. Kitts. Here are the photos from that circumnavigation of Sagitta.
360 Degrees of Sagitta
I love the ones with St. Kitts in the background. Hard to put into words just how beautiful it really is.
If you’ve never been on an Island Windjammers cruise I highly recommend it. It’s nothing like cruising on the mega-ships to only the biggest ports of call. The Sagitta and her sister ship the Diamant visit parts of the Caribbean big cruise ships can’t get to. The crew is the best, the food out of this world, and you’ll get to sail through the seas like people have been doing for over a 1000 years.
Cheers and happy sailing!
