Cruzan Rum VooDoo Juice, The Curse Is Real

After one sip, you’ll be sticking pins in dolls.

Scared? Oh, you should be. If the name alone doesn’t give you hesitation, the dangerous combination of 5 flavorful rums should cause worry. The Cruzan Rum VooDoo Juice cocktail will definitely cast a powerful curse on you.

I know what you’re thinking, “Come on RumShop, how can a boat drink really cast a curse, you’re just saying that because of the name.”  True, the name helps, but hear me out.  VooDoo Juice is what I like to call a double-edged sword. You’re damned if you do, and you’re damned if you don’t.

You’re damned if you do because the intoxicating mixture of flavored rums and fruit juices tastes so damn good you won’t ever want to stop indulging. All that flavor masks any taste of alcohol and you’ll drink it like a normal glass of juice. That’s when it bites you!

You’re damned if you don’t because you’ll know you’re missing out on something grand. Everyone else will be happy, jovial, and belting out Buffett tunes at the top of their lungs. You’ll be “That Person” standing in the corner with a warm beer and a scowl on your face.  That my Castaway friends is the curse of the VooDoo Juice.

Cruzan VooDoo Juice Recipe

  • 1oz. Orange Rum
  • 1oz. Banana Rum
  • 1oz. Coconut Rum
  • 1oz. Pineapple Rum
  • 1 1/2 oz. Cranberry Juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. Orange Juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 oz. Dark Rum

Blending Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together over ice except for the dark rum. Float dark rum on top and serve. Raise glass and toast.

Who’s going to be mixing up this tasty boat drink concoction? I think I’m going to make a large batch of this stuff and take down to Key West with me in July. What better place to get a little cursed than Key Crazy!

PS – That’s not me in the video, I’d be wearing a better shirt.

Cheers Castaways,

ROFL nice observation on that shirt rummy!! That voodoo juice has me nervous. My island blood tells me to stay away, but the ingredients are telling me to give it a try. Is that the voodoo working already?

Voodoo Juice is the best thing ever created. I have been known to break out the bucket in the middle of December and start pouring!

Only drink this with people you trust…… The last thing I remember was bring out on the lake.
I woke up at home with no clue how I got there, though all my friends said I had a great time .
This drink is sneaky smooth and catches up to you fast.

Haha…should have had dinner before the second one, then you would have been good to go. The VooDoo Juice strikes again. Thanks for the comment Patrick. Cheers!

Is this the same recipe as they served in st Thomas? I had the little bucket they served it in, kept it as a souvenir because it had the recipe on it. Now I can’t find it! 🙁

Hi Chanin, yes that’s the same recipe. As you can see by the video, we are at Iggies at Bolongo. You can simply watch her make the delicious drink right before your eyes then copy it at home. Love the Voodoo Juice!

I have had these Cruzan Voodoo Buckets at the Rum Bar in Palm Bch Gardens Fl, the tiki bar here is awesome, and the staff here makes a great “bucket”, couple of them is what it takes!!! Too bad, some developer bought Hatties, and land next to it, so sometime in 2015, the Rum Bar will be history…

We take a couple’s trip every year to Myrtle Beach. That is when we were introduced to “the voodoo bucket”. We love it….. one year the ladies ordered 5 back to back racing to see who’d drink the fastest. Our end results were 1 who was so drunk she cried about everything. 2 that needed getting dressed. And the other 2 that went Into their rooms and didn’t rejoin us until the next day…..CAN’T wait until this year’s trip!!!!!

While the men just sat back and laughed
