Caribbean Weekly Wrap Up

You would have thought Jamaica would be one of the first places to legalize marijuana, not Colorado and Washington state. Well it looks like the Jamaican government is moving to decriminalize the drug. That story and some amazing BVI photos from one of my new favorite boating blogs and some resort tips fill story lines in this week’s Caribbean Wrap Up.

Caribbean Weekly Wrap Up

Boat Life Lately. According to my iPhone: As we’ve been floating around the gorgeous BVI’s, I’ve found myself posting more and more quick iPhone shots over on Instagram! That is, when we happen to be in range of a AT&T cell tower from the USVI. –Story and stunning photos by Lahowind.com

11 Caribbean All-Inclusive Resorts to Visit in 2015: The Caribbean’s all-inclusive product comes in a host of shapes and sizes, from hidden boutiques to larger properties with unmatched amenities. These are the all-inclusives you should try in 2015. –Story by Caribbean Journal

Hotels with benefits – The best Caribbean resort perks: We’ve come a long way since welcome cocktails and gratis Wi-Fi were considered resort perks. These days, add-ons are as much a part of a vacation as a chaise on the beach, cocktails on the terrace and throwing calories to the wind at a lavish breakfast buffet. Check out our list of Caribbean uber-cool perks and pick your favorite from cooking classes and tennis lessons to a soak in a bathtub under the stars. –Story by USA Today Travel

A Very Different Jamaican Experience: Once arriving in Montego Bay, imagine a 2 1/2 – 3 hour drive on very narrow roads through Jamaica’s mountainside. Along the way you wander through shanty towns off the beaten track where goats and cattle freely roam. Treasure Beach will expose you to the “real” Jamaica, very far off the typical tourist track. –Story by travel2thecaribbeanblog.com

Jamaica is About to Decriminalize Ganja: The island nation most closely associated with marijuana in the popular mind is about to decriminalize it. The Jamaican cabinet Monday approved a bill that would do just that, as well as allow for the creation of medical marijuana and hemp industries. -Story by Alternet.org
