The Black Eddy Cocktail Recipe – Boat Drinks Day!

After one sip, you’ll be singing, “Yo ho ho, It’s a Pirate’s Life for Me”

Have you ever heard of Kahuna Kevin? I hadn’t either up until a few weeks ago. Turns out he is a mixologist, or a rum scientist, or mad professor, something crazy like that. He was nice enough to send me his rum recipe book called “KAHUNA KEVIN’S Why Is The Rum Gone?“. Thanks Kevin!

I started browsing through the book of 40 rum recipes and started to get thirsty. Occupational hazard. I was like, “That’s a good one, and that’s a good one, and that’s a good one.” If had hair I would have pulled it all out trying to pick today’s Boat Drink recipe from Kahuan Kevin’s book. Then one jumped out at me, The Black Eddy. I’m a fan of dark rums and the Black Eddy is full of them. Kraken, check. Cruzan Black Strap, check. Myer’s Dark Rum, Check.  What’s not to like!

Black Eddy Cocktail Recipe

  • 1oz. Lemon Juice
  • 1oz. POM Pomegranate Juice
  • 1/2oz. Cruzan Black Strap Rum
  • 1/2oz. Depaz cane syrup
  • 1/2oz. Kraken Spiced Rum (94 proof)
  • 1/2oz. Myers Dark Rum
  • 1/2oz. STROH 80 Rum (160 proof)
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Ice

Fast blend all ingredients until ice is crushed. Garnish with 1 mint sprig and a lemon wedge. Raise glass and toast.

I’ll feature a new Kahuna Kevin’s drink recipe every now and then in the future, so keep reading.  If you would like to see more of Kahuna Kevin’s Tiki Rum Drink Recipes go to www.KahunaKevin.com. He also has a Facebook page here: Why Is The Rum Gone? If you are interested in turning into a mad rum scientist, then you need to get his book. You can order it here. (affiliate link)
